On sertraline 2 years but anxiety back!!!

I've been on sertraline 50mg for 2 years now. The 1st few weeks were horrendous for side effects but then started to feel more my old self again. The past few days though, I've been feeling more anxious again and scared of going back to where I was I don't know if it's a coincidence but I've had more coffee than normal the last few days? Anyone experienced this? I'm worried about upping to 100mg incase I have the side effects

Switch to decaf, I experienced increase anxiety when I drink reg coffee

Yup I'd also suggest decaf or have a try of camomile tea which is what I drink.

If you do have to increase your sert the side effects should be minimal if any as your body will be used to it by now, if you do have side effects you know they won't last long. Neil

Hello and so sorry this is happening to you again. It is happening to me too. I was on 75mg of sertraline for one year and doing well, living a normal life again but then two weeks ago the anxiety returned due to my high demand stress job. My pdoc immediately increased my dosage to 100. Do not be afraid of increasing. I had horrendous side effects when starting the drug last year. Two weeks in to the increase and I have had none of them except a bit of dry mouth. I am super sensitive to meds and anxiety so it is normal for me to get really distraught. So you can believe me when I say no noticeable side effects from the increase. I just want it to start working. My pdoc said it takes a while. It could take 3 to 4 weeks for the increase to stop the anxiety. I am praying and finding comfort in reading peaceful and hope-filled scriptures in the Bible. I don't know you, but we are in this together. Don't be afraid to take steps toward getting well again. I will let you know how I am doing so that you can be encouraged. Hang in there my friend. You and I know it does get better. Xo
