Hi, I am really really happy about what Sertraline did to my depression. I think that was the best thing ever happened in my life. And I mean it. The side effects are completely gone. However I am still very anxious and low self confidence. Any small situation makes me insecure. I been using Diazepam for many years before Sertraline and was hoping that Sertraline will make me less dependent on Diazepam. However it didn’t happen. Do you have any experience/recommendation?

i am on 100 mg my week 6 after 2 weeks on 50 in total 2 months on sertraline .
i still have nerviousness and anxious feeling and not really excited to do stuff .
i took sertraline before for 2 yrs and it was my happy pill but i cant remember how long it took me to feel better and im worried if it will work again for me .

How long did it take for your symptoms of depression to improve? I have been on Sert for 13 weeks and currently on 150 (4 weeks). I am having better moments but I am still quite depressed and then anxiety kicks in…

Honestly i don’t know when i felt an immediate affect, i think for me sertraline has worked very subtly. apparently 50mg is just a therapeutic dosage, it doesnt do much if you need it badly, but with 100mg i did feel that my more erratic emotions got muted within 2-4 weeks of increasing the dosage. i do empathize with your situation… waiting for something to take affect is like watching and waiting for the kettle boil, it just never happens as fast as you want it to be. please hang in there 
Hi I have being on sertraline for about 10 weeks now was on 50mg for 8 weeks just over and had it increased on new years eve to 100mg.
I also take diazepam 2mg as and when needed my advice to you woukd be DONT just stop the diazepam but start tapering off.

I had many side effects but mostly gone within the first week. The last one was the night sweating and that one was gone lately as well. it helped my depression very rapidly, and I am only on 50mg. 31 years
hello, the depression was gone very quicky. anxiety still here. maybe try a different one?

only increased anixiety and intrusive thoughts which i take it for , i dont understand how it increases the things its meant to cure .
Every increase my anxiety spiked up and depression worsened.
thanks for your reply , its really hard to foucus when anixiety is hitting and dont feel happy or excited to do things .
i know it takes a long time for the med to work but waiting is awful
What mg dosage do you take when you take?
Also what mg sertraline are you currently taking?
If the benzo is helping to me it suggests the Sertraline isn’t quite taking the edge off so may need upping.
One thing for sure Is to speak to a dr and wean yaself off the diazepam as diazepam withdrawal is supposedly worse than heroin withdrawal.
