On the edge

Hi,

For the past week Ive been pretty much on the edge with my anxiety.. if feels like im going to have a full blown panic attack but it never happens. Ive just been in this horrible state of tension. I have a glass of wine to try and chill me out or try to destract myself by doing something else but it never fully goes away.

Anybody else felt like this, any advice much appreciated

sounds like you have your anxiety/panic mode stuck in 1st gear.. and your current methods of putting it in to neutral are not long term sustainable methods. Do you take any meds? Any therapy? You been to the docs? Try some light exercise - swimming preferably and maybe ask your doctor for some propranolol which will lessen the physical symptoms of anxiety.

I used to suffer something similar and I tried many things including distractions, they do help me however my Anxiety is caused by a physical Chronic Disability and they have me coked up for depression and my Pain medications can help me keep calm. Many Anxiety Sufferers can feel Distractions do not work and have an aversion to that way of help

Try Relaxation Technique, Mindfulness and Breathing Techniques.
