One thing after another and hip op monday

In the last few weeks my hubby has been unwell, my son had to go into hosp for an op, my mother in law has had a mastectomy and we have just come home from a family party after getting a phone call to say we had been burgled.

Go into hosp tomorrow a bit unnerved. 2nd hip op in 3 months. Hope i made the right decìsion

Dear Kate

So much seems to have gone wrong for you and your family lately Im sure you must be thinking what next. But dont forget you have had one very good piece of fortune, your first hip operation and you are about to have your second which will make such a difference to you.

So just look forward to the future when you will be pain free.  You are nearly there.

Keep in touch and let us know how you are getting on

Wishing you well and a speedy recovery

Dear Kat,

Gosh what a bummer....sad for you and...

Six months on I must say the op has been a god send. Kneeling down and cutting toes nails on left foot, then reversing legs in kneeling position to do right foot...all so easy and impossible a year ago.

So, go for the op, and skies will turn blue. All will be well again, I know

Thank you xx

So sorry that so much has gone wrong for you recently, I hope everything goes well for you tomorrow.

Chin up and good luck!

Hi Kate,

I identifying so much with you, I have had a bad

couple of years, but after my second hip op

I am feeling more confident and in control again.

Good luck Cathie

Yikes!  I'd be unnerved, too.  But the good news is that you've made a good decision.  Immediately following the operation, I asked myself, "Why in the world did I do this to myself???"  The first couple of weeks post op are difficult, HOWEVER, I'm now 10 weeks post op and I find that most of the time I don't think of my hip at all.  Yesterday, I went up and down the stairs normally for the first time in years.  I still have a ways to go - and doing my physcial therapy and walking are a big part of that - but I now feel it was, not just a good decision, but a great one.  Good luck on the 'morrow!

Hi Kate -

Just checking in with you and letting you know I am thinking of you on this big day -

All is well, darling - Looking forward to your first post-op post !!!

big warm hug

and angel blessings

Thank you Renee. Going down at lunchtime. Nervous morning ahead. Xx

Just saw your post Kate and wanted to say I am nearly 3 weeks after my second hip op. This morning I woke up and did my bed exercises and suddenly realised I hadnt had any tablets and there was no pain at all in my hips. Its a wonderful feeling and you will be there soon.

Thinking of you
