Ongoing Herpes outbreak

I have genital herpes (type 1) and am currently in a breakout almost as severe as my primary one with no sign of getting better.
My primary outbreak happened about 4-5 years ago and like alot of people was absolutely awful, I cried when I peed, when I sat down and when I tried to sleep. fast forward to a few weeks ago, I’d only had a couple of minor outbreaks since, the odd blister under the skin, hop on antivirals and bam they were gone. About 3-4 weeks ago I realised I had an out break coming on (it took me longer to realise since it’s on my arse hole and up my buttcrack rather then on my vagina and labias in the past so I just assumed it was a fissure or a pimple) I upped my does of famviclover from 1as a suppressant to 3 times a day for treatment. being the idiot that i am the first week, I pushed myself and went to the gym 6 time (using the stationary bike to create some serious swamp arse) and so unsurprisingly it got worse and not better. I wake up last Sunday and realise that I’m in pain and probably can’t work so cancel my shifts for the week (I have a physically demanding job, a fair bit of walking and often a lot of stairs) and set about resting (as best as you can when you have a throbbing burning butt crack). Now after a week and a half of epson salt baths, masses of Medicreme (sometimes and entire 50g tube within 24 hours, Heavy ibuprofen and paracetamol for pain and antiviral treatment, and treating the subsequent thrush, I only seem a little bit better. Blisters from a week ago have popped (or been scratched) and are now weeping so bad that I leave a wet patch where I’m sitting ( I soak through a pair of undies in minutes. But yet I have areas that feel bruised as though they have sores still forming and mosquito bite like lumps that are waiting to blister, I’m supposed to return to work tomorrow but don’t know how I can with the pain, a waddle and a leaky butt. Do I take another week off work? Why aren’t the antivirals helping much? what do I do about the weeping? and pain relief so i can sleep?

Defs head to your GP and get them to write you a script for Valtrex. There’s a chance that the virus in your body has built up some immunity to your current antivirals and you may need something different to kick the outbreak, especially if it’s bad.
