All. Here are some long term symptoms that have been bothering me. I don't know whether anyone has any opinions. I was 33 at onset.
20th August 2016 - Went to gym as I often do in the evening. Jogging cycling and some core/lower body exercises. Went to sleep with no symptoms, everything normal. Woke up in morning aching head to foot, struggled to walk downstairs as muscles all sore. Very tired and lethargic for 15 hours. Symptoms then cleared but slight dysuria remained. Slight tinging feeling in anus and when defecating.
24th August 2016 - Dysuria now quite severe. urine clear, smells normal. Some urinary frequency one evening, but I had been drinking some alcohol. No other symptoms. Doctor states probable UTI/bladder infection. Antibiotics given. 1 instance of having to get up at night to urinate urgently, but that was the only occasion.
September 2016 - Symptoms reduced gradually over some days but dysuria still present. Sent for STD tests. All negative. Tingling in penis on left side and sometimes inside anus on left side. No sexual problems at any stage. Ejaculation normal.
November 2017 - Some mild discomfort/tension persists in perineum when not urinating, and some dysuria. Went out to dinner one evening and there was a sudden very sharp pain in lower urethra. Eased within 30 seconds of going to bathroom. Some dysuria, but very mild, continued after this. After that I began to notice an area of the urethra at base of penis was sore, stung to touch. Visited doctor. Rectal DRE carried out and judged to be normal.
December 2017 - PSA test in view of my father having been diagnosed with prostate cancer aged 65 several years earlier). Told the result and all bloods are normal. Result delivered to my door stated PSA 3.7. Returned to doctor and stated this did seem a bit high. Doctor agreed it was a bit high for my age, but still no great concern. Said it could be many things, but was probably prostatitis gradually going away.
March 2017 - Symptoms persisted. Finally saw specialist. PSA redone at 2.1. I was encouraged that it reduced in line with reduction of symptoms (dysuria had further reduced), but I still thought PSA a little high Doctor was unconcerned, said that I am too young for prostate cancer, DRE exam carried out again and normal. Still very slight occasional dysuria but symptoms now milder. I was discharged.
July 2017 -- Very mild dysuria still present occasionally. Urethra sometimes feels sore near base of penis and there is sometimes a tingling feeling along the penis (but rarely). I had done some research by this point and deduced that the problem may have stemmed from some mild damage to the urethra/PC muscle due to cycling/trauma from gym injury. Had what appeared to be a hip problem and ligament pain after running. Muscle down to knee was sore. Put it down to a mild injury and It went away after 2 weeks. Some concerns as I know that hip issues can arise with prostate cancer, but these were short lived as it disappeared promptly.
February 2018 - Hip issue resurfaced after 3 days of running each night. Groin area felt tense during running. Final evening of running groin area tender. No pain after having stopped running. Next day lower groin area twitching. Dysuria seemed to become a bit worse at this stage. Perineum even painful slightly. I have since stopped running (for 1 week) and the symptoms have reduced slightly, but they do persist.
Other clues - I noticed there is rarely any tingling when I urinate first thing in the morning, but later in the day it is more noticeable.
Now having just turned 35, this problem clearly has not gone away entirely. Obviously there is a worry about any urinary symptoms since my father was diagnosed with Stage 1 prostate cancer. Then again I have been told by 2 doctors that I do not have this disease. Several people have agreed that it may be down to some trauma to the area during exercise.
Any comments appreciated.
