4 months post thr and just completed a 5 mile walk pain free. Used my cane as I still have a slight limp but it is lessening week by week.
I know I've been lucky with my recovery and not everyone is but I really hope you can take some inspiration from all the success stories on here.
So glad to hear your recovery is good ! But I wonder why you limp.. is it because of weak knees or any other reason? I’m 4 months post op. My hip is very good but I too limp because of some numbness on the leg and top side of my foot. I’m able to walk, bike, swim and do some exercises. However, biking is still a little tough because of my numb ankle and weak leg... I wonder how everyone else doing?
As my op was lateral posteria approach my slight limp is down to the thigh muscle not being back to full strength yet. No numbness or anything like that thank goodness
Hi Marilyn,
So pleased you're doing so well. I am 8 weeks post op and there's not much I want to do now that I can't but I do realise, like you, that I've been very lucky. Still got a few twinges in and around the butt area etc but I think full healing takes some time. I agree with you that it's so nice to be able to post positive things for people who are still waiting for their op or who are not sure whether to go ahead. I'm so glad I did and i bet you are too. Good luck with your continued recovery.
I'm like you, Millie. Excellent progress but not got full strength back in the butt and thigh muscles yet. It's not surprising when you think that this operation isn't exactly gentle.
Well done that's great news ! It's great to walk pain free isint it 😀
That is good to know, Marilyn. Do you do some exercises to strengthen your weakness? That will help.
