Hi, I had surgery on my absess about 3 weeks ago. I just had a look and noticed the wound is still open. Is this normal? I had disovable stitches put in, its gone but there is still the open wound. What should I do?
Hi Kirsty I don't this sounds good and you need to get this checked out and be careful as open wounds can be prone to infection

Then yes that's what the do, they basically create a new opening for the gland to drain from, I assume in time it gets smaller
I had mine done 5 weeks ago and still quite obvious hole and still leaking fluid
I had a marsipulization 7 weeks ago. The open wound is completely normal. I too panicked when I had a look and saw a huge open wound, keep in mind that it should close up in a week but the scar from the incision remains. I cried to my husband because I felt "botched" however when I tried showing him he couldn't see it. So be aware that the incision leaves a deep scar but no one else will even know its there except for you! Praying for your healing sister
