I was meant to be having my operation tomorrow morning but they called today to cancel because they forgot to inform me I had to stop taking the contraceptive pill 4 weeks before the op. I had just about psyched myself up for it. Feeling very deflated.
Oh god Steph that is awfull x that happened to me but mine was a water infection that showed in blood test even though I had no symptoms but I had call day before and it really makes Yu feel down. My pain was so bad I really could have done something stupid, I had to wait another two weeks hope u don't have to wait long
Steph how awful for you and no wonder you feel down. As you say you get yourself all psyched up to try to overcome the anxieties and then they drop this bombshell on you. It amazes me how different each hospitals approach is and what information they give (or don't in your case) to the patients. Best thing to do is rewind, start to relax and enjoy the weeks you have before they reschedule the operation and try to forget about the op until it's nearly time again. Why don't you go out tomorrow and treat yourself to something that will make you feel better and bring a smile to your face?
Take care

Oh dear what a shame. However you know that they will put you on the list for 4 weeks time, which is what usually happens, so I hope all goes well for you the next time.
Hi steph
thats awful to have your op canceled, but its better than what happened to me, I was past the point of no return on my hip replacement and the surgeon was told by a nurse that came into the theater that I was pregnant! The surgeon panicked and put the wrong hip in ( it was far to big) and put it in on a slant! So it damaged my back. I away 53 when the op was done so imagine my surprise when I was told in recovery
