Optician

I went to see my optician yesterday for a routine eye test, eyesight was fine, no change from two years ago.  I told her my blepharitis story, she said that she could see some slight evidence but nothing serious, a very different story to when I first saw my doc with big red swollen eyelids.  My self found treatment plan does work, for me at least.

Which is....???   Congrats on something working

Are you the one who said you use a 50/50% tea tree shampoo and water mix that you leave on your eyes overnight?

Hi I saw my eye specialist a couple of week ago who told me the back of my eyes are fine...... as for the blepharitis I am on the maximum treatment so he discharged m !!! ....like you the treatment I am on I have sorted for myself....I still get flare ups but not as bad as it was ...I sometimes think these so called specialist don't have a clue which is why they discharge us.....

Hi Gwinny, out of interest, did the doc ever put you on Metrogel? did ****** all for me!

....to shower every morning without fail and use a shampoo, trade name Capasal, available on prescription and off Amazon, to wash the hair and all round eye area with the suds.  Capasal is primarily used to treat seborrheic dermatitis - oily skin debris, blepharitis seems to be an infection of the eyelash follicles again due to debris (I think).  I know if I miss a shower I get the 'crusty lids'.  I presume you have this problem so please give it a try and let us know if it works for you, fingers crossed.

No, see reply to 'carocross' just posted.

Thanks, David!  I am in US and see this on Amazon. Pricey for a shampoo but very inexpensive compared to much.  Especially if it works!!!

No never heard of that. ...I have just finished a course of doxycycline. ...1st Time I had them they worked really well ....I got the info from this site and asked my GP about them which is why I got them. They haven't worked as well this time.... I use blephasol wipes and blephasol lotion which do help me but like I say I still get flare ups and each time it's different. ....at the moment my right eyelid is very sore is swollen and I don't really know what to do about it....I look a freak especially 1st thing on a morning....😟

I get the gritty stuff.  I;'ve tried a dozen things but still have the

grit in my eyes after cleaning.  do you have grit.?    Goes the

Capasal take it away? Do the directions on the Capasal say it

is safe for the eyes?

Hi, Yes, about £12 I believe, give it a go and let me know how you get on.  I think the important thing is to use it regularly.

What u saw as Capasal fir dandruff at about $56.  That would be much more than £12, I think...

Sorry about my errors!! Above should be What I saw, not what u saw.  Maybe this Capasal is different than yours?  Do you know ingredients in yours so I can compare?    Thanks!!! Cheers☺️!!

My reply contained a link and may be deemed as advertising, lets see if it comes through.  I just  searched on capasal in Amazon and it comes up top of the list at £10.99.

That is it,David.  I guess it costs more here since it comes from UK?? Thanks!!

what is your secret please? Dena

It contains a coal tar extract, there are various products containing similar I guess.

I use a shampoo called 'Capasal', available on prescription or Amazon.  I have to shower every morning without fail or my eyes will crust up.  Wash hair and eyes, brows and lashes.

This stuff that you get near your eyes doesn't irritate them? Dena

No, no need to scrub them, just close and massage gently.  When rinsing use a squeegy action with your fingertips to wipe away the suds under the shower.
