my first outbreak was about 3 years ago and it was on my vagina. blisters on top of blisters so bad i couldnt walk. i did blood work and a culture sample and it came back as oral herpes (thank god). They said my partner at the time must have had a cold sore and gave my vagina oral herpes. that doesnt make sense to me, why would it not be genital herpes then? i havent had anything since except for one coldsore on my gums a week ago, thats it
Alright, so HSV1 is NOT just oral herpes.
It is transmitted through the genitals as well.
If you have HSV1 genital, you can pass it on to future partners through intercourse.
It does not just come from oral cold sores.
You dont have oral herpes on your vagina.
you have genital HSV1. Its no different than genital HSV2.
Its just a different strand of the HSV virus.
The type of HSV, does not dictate the location.
Your partner could have genital HSV1 as well. 80% of the population dont even know theyre carriers.
You couldve also been a carrier for months and only now had an outbreak.
