Hi all! How can you tell if oral thrush has gone away. I’ve been on one round of nystatin which I finished 4 days ago. I still have white spots and a coated tongue. I believe it’s spreading again.
Any other options to help get rid of this?? Nystatin was awful and didn’t work. Thanks!
I have the same problem. I was put on nystatin for a week took full dose two rounds still not gone. Usually, the tongue is still coated or symptoms havent gone. Maybe try some mouth wash? I'm looking for answers too! Good luck!
Oralmthrush is hard to get rid of. I get if when antibiotics are given without diflucan. The antibiotics kill all the good bacteria leaving yeast in the gut.
after each gargle with nyastatin my doctor said to swallow a small amount to kill the yeast in the throat. Keep in mouth as long as possible and do not eat drink for 1 hour.
Also eating yogurt and taking supplements.
Each time I had to refil the prescription as yeast is tough to to treat.
