Orencia and Meniere's Disease

Hi all,

would really appreciate any and all advice/opinion.

Just wondering if anyone who is on or has been on Orencia knows if there is a connection between it and Meniere's?

Just put in an horrific day with a bout of vertigo, nausea, vomiting etc.

Did have Meniere's long before I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid but it went away after a year or so.

Only on Orencia for the past month, took my 4th weekly injection on Sunday.

Wondering now if I should not take any more if this is going to happen again next week.

Hi Goggi, I don't take Orencia but I do have Menieres. I had it for years quite badly. It disappeared for about 12 years and has suddenly reappeared along with the tinnitus that accompanies it. I would discuss it with your rheumatologist to see if there is a correlation between its return and the Orencia. Mine said no to it being brought on by Cimzia or RA. Would be interesting to see if anyone else has the same. By the way, mine seems to be worse in heavy atmospheric weather like thunderstorms etc.

Will ask the rheumatologist at my next visit.

Think I won't take any more Orencia until then as my head is like it is full of cotton wool today and hearing very affected but at least the nausea and vomiting is gone (for now)!
