Hi, I've been taking Orlistat for almost two weeks now, and I haven't lost anything. I follow the 1600-1700 calories per day, and have a low fat diet. I go to the gym three times per week.
Up until 2 years ago, I was very active, and I did lots of weight training, I am very muscular (underneath my fat) I am 5ft1 and even when I was a size 8/10 I weighed 10stone. I'm now a size 16/18 and weigh 11.5 stone I'm convinced the reason I gained weight was due to my anxiety disorder causing me to not be able to leave the house, and the medication I am taking for that.
Has anyone else gained weight due to medication, and have they managed to lose it whilst on Orlistat?
I'm trying to stay hopeful x
Hi everybody
I too have been taking Orlistat for two weeks. I have not lost anything. I am also on insulin and follow a low carb diet. I too am on several drugs for nervous conditions. I never eat takeaway and follow a Mediterranean diet with lots of plain greek yoghurt.
I wish I would hurry up and lose weight. Somebody out there, please encourage me. Thank you.
Hi Beryl, yep, I also eat a Mediterranean diet, and with lots of fat free greek yoghurt. I'd even go as far as to say my waistline, has increased, and this is my main fatty area, my legs and arms are not so fat, it's all on my back, boobs and belly.
As much as I hate my huge chest, I'd settle for keeping it in return for a smaller waistline I used to have.
I would also love to hear of someone who has had good results when on Orlistat and medication which makes it harder to lose weight, or medication which causes weight gain.
I have been taking orilstat for two weeks and haven't lost any weight. U followed a low fat diet and I haven't even had a treat so how can I not lose any weight. I walk to and from work and everything I have cooked has been fresh with little fat
