Osteolysis - You should be concerned!

This information was posted on another forum this morning that I'm a member of.     Osteolysis is quite a concern for some people who have had a total ankle replacement and it is something that we should all be aware of because it could effect your ankle prosthesis and you at any time in the future.   In my case it means that I'm shortly due to have surgery to remove my Zenith TAR prosthesis and put in an alternative prosthesis and it will not be easy!

It will be the Wright Invision which has a built up stem and this allows the surgeon to use a far greater length than would otherwise be possible.

This is very necessary as it is going into a car crash of a site as the prosthesis that is being removed was not set in a proper central position so the forces were being taken in a displaced way which was obviously not good!
