So about a mont ago i got a herpes outbreak only on my butthole... i took valtrext for about 12 days day 1g twice a day.. at the end of the 12 days it looked as if it was almost fully gone so i stopped the valtrex then a few days later it started coming back not bad but worse than it was when i thought it was healing(i was also pretty stressed during this time) so i went on the valtrex again for a few days to try and make it heal again, so it seemed pretty healed wasn't bothering me at all for a few days and now it's starting again!!! again it's not really that bad but i don't want it to get worse it almost looks like fissures but then there are some small circular spots... should i take valtrex again? I haven't had a outbreak since january when i had my first one and then all of this... i don't want to over due taking the valtrex here and there because i don't want it to start not working for my body if i am not taking it properly
Which type do you have? Does valtrex stop working if it is taken for suppressive therapy? If it isn't a blister do you think it could be something else?
It might be an idea to have it looked at and swabbed to see if it is indeed herpes. It shouldn't be so persistent, especially since you have HSV1, if I'm not mistaken, so there's a chance it could be something else. Wouldn't hurt to seek confirmation.
