Ovarian Cyst Issues HELP PLEASE PAINFUL

Hello,

I am seeking help. I have a cyst on my left ovary that is causing me a lot of pain. I have been to the ER twice in the last three days. The pain meds they give me don't help. I also have a retroverted uterus, so I get really bad back pain too. I just am wondering if anyone else has gone through this, the doctors say they cannont remove it until it is 5 cms and it was at 2.4 cms when I was at the ER  Thursday night. I went to the ER tuesday and it was 1.4 cms so it has grown a lot in those two days. I am wondering what happens when they remove the cyst. If they take my ovary, will it lessen my chances of getting pregnant. I am 23 and I don't have any kids, but would like to have at least four of them someday.

My cyst isEXTREMELY painful, I would say it's like having constant back pain  and pain in front where the uterus is. Please help if you can. I just want to know if anyone has gone through what I am going through. I have been on the Nuva Ring for 4 years and my doctor thinks I could have gotten my cyst from the Nuva ring.

You didnt say which meds they gave you, I saw approx 5 drs last week before one of them prescribed codeine, the others suggested paracetamol and ibuprofen which didnt touch the pain. Codeine worked for me then I moved on to co-codamol (as pain was lessening after a week) which is codeine and paracetamol combined as the codeine left me feeling too spaced out to work.

I'm told that one ovary will continue to work well enough for you to have children.  You will see from others responses on this website that is true.

Hope you get some pain relief soon.

They try and remove the cyst only and leave the ovary.

Should they have to remove the ovary you can get pregnant as well with as with two. All that happens is that the remaining ovary will release an egg every month instead of every other month, in other words they take it in turns but all that happens is it takes over.

Oh yeah I had this problem with the tipped back uterus, the lower back problems-i have a bulged disc- and my cysts were at 7cm and they wouldn't remove them. I'm 24 and don't have children either, and cannot take any hormone birth control treatment because I have a history of clots and a clotting disorder. I get these cysts every month since November of last year, they follow my cycle and it sucks, but be careful with all those ER trips, you need to see the obgyn more consistently or they will think you're drug seeking.
