Hi, It is reassuring to see I'm not the only one going through this type of pain. I've previously had 2 caesarians & a laparotomy for an ectopic (last caes. 10 years ago. Last Sept I had left fallopian tube removed due to a large cyst (10 x 6cm). Have been fine after this until beginning of October this year., when I had an abnormal period (cycle of 11 days!). Had blood tests done which showed raised fsh levels suggesting peri menopause (40 years old!). A week later developed constant pain left side and across abdomen and am still in pain but is not as bad. However I have been off work for 6 weeks, and I am a nurse! Scan in the community hosp. showed nothing, but my gynae cons. is sending me for a scan at the main hospital as the equipment is probably better. This is next Friday. I really hope they find something as at least then you feel some justification for being in pain.
Hi i hope you get the answers you want,at least to find out what's wrong and exactly where the pain is coming from.I understand your frustration,do you get treated better because your a nurse? I'm the same age as you and i have only one and a bit ovaries left but i would much prefer to be going through the menopause than constsntly living on pain killers and laxatives.I'm getting sweats dayly so there won't anything new to live with. All the best for your scan i hope all goes well.
Hi, Don't know if I get treated better as a nurse, but I work at the same hospital, which is a university teaching hospital so is pretty good. Would not go to my other local District General though!
Well i hope you get sorted out soon but in my experience it doesn't mean better health or the answer to your problems.
