Please can anyone help and tell me I’m normal . I’ve been through the spells of hot flushes through my body , feeling nauseous with it etc , but now on occasions it’s continuous overheated feeling . As soon as I start exerting myself a bit say doing housework , cooking , general day day things I’m sweating and literally stripping off , even though it’s the middle of winter and freezing cold 😂 . Then a little while later I’m so cold and putting all the layers back on . I’ve always been a chilly mortal , but now it seems like my thermostat is all out of whack . Is this normal ? Does anyone else suffer like this . I often have to stop what I’m doing as I’m so overcome with heat and sweating ( or should I say perspiring 😊 ) . Please help X
Hi Jane, I replied to you but my reply disappeared, so I,ll try again. This is a hormone imbalance and a year ago just now, I had the same symptom. I spent all winter outside in the garden. Night and Day. Couldn't be inside, so missed company, couldn't sit and watch telly or be part of anything, Once my hrt was sorted out, these symptoms went.
I have experienced this. If I start to get the slightest bit warm it's as if my internal thermostat says, what the hell, let's go for it, and suddenly I am on fire. I have the AC in my office on all year round because I would rather be a bit cold than too warm.
And yet at night before bed I am freezing and can't get enough blankets on me. Complicated by the fact that I have a fan on beside my bed all night to keep me cool in an attempt to head off middle of night sweats.
Menopause. It's a cornucopia.
Hi Jane, all normal it happens to most people I get it on and off..I have jump out of bed previously like that and still do sometimes..it will go and come, and yes house work makes it worst because your moving around I had to stop and go again run in from the fan it's my life saver at night as you said in the middle of Winter stripping off Lol
