I've just had a lovely overnight stay in Glasgow. My granddaughter has just started Glasgow university and we went by ferry to settle her in. I can't believe how much I walked up hills up steps. Unfortunately step counter kept going while in car so didn't have a true reading of the steps but it was so good to be able to go about. Not totally there yet at 11 weeks/ still waddling /stll needing cranked up after sitting but getting there.
Your granddaughter will enjoy Glasgow, my daughter did her first degree there. Would go back like a shot if she and her boyfriend could get a job up there. Good to hear you are able to walk around so much
Great stuff and re the waddling, it'll go without realising it.
There's a bloke in the states who's done an ironman with a hip replacement so the sky's the limit.
It sounds like you have this thing nailed, attractac. Well done you!
I'm so looking forward to being at the stage you are, to getting out and about and getting my life back. Also, getting back to work is a biggie for me. Whilst I know my colleagues are more than capable of holding the fort for me, there's nothing better than picking up the phone to one of my regular patients who I know well and helping them with their concerns. That's so rewarding and is at the forefront of my wish to recover, to get back to them.
I'm not coming across as very patient, am I? 😂 I'm being good though and not overdoing it.
Glasgow is a favourite of mine, with my ancestors hailing from Coatbridge, not far from there. I'm a big lover of Scotland as a whole though. I always feel like I've gone 'home' when I'm in the highlands. Odd! 😳
So glad you are doing so well. You are an inspiration to us all.
Take care.
Ali xx
Thank ali. I have a way to go yet tho. The people in Glasgow were so friendly and the west end near the uni is lovely. Had a Vietnamese meal and Vietnamese beer in Scotland. !!!
Thanks larry . I'm so glad to hear the waddling will go.
Hey Attractac, get us, walking about and everything!!
Just back from 5 days in Bath and walked all over. The new hip is fab, also still waddling when tired but it works really well. We won't talk about the leftie which is trying to die on me even though the Hip Wizard consultant told me there is still life in it (he doesn't have to walk on it does he?).
I am back swimming and working from home again (I have a small business) and doing a few markets etc. It feels good to be doing normal stuff again.
We even walked tonight and picked a ton of blackberries and rosehips so guess what I'll be doing tomorrow!
Larry - I am pleased for the 'Iron' man but he will wear his hip out. I am getting fit but keeping 'preservation' at the front of my mind. I don't fancy going through this too many times!!!
