Hey all, For the part seven months I have been experiencing a variety of intense and painful physical symptoms. severe dizziness, head pressure, reflux, bloating , cramping, loose stools, sensitivity to light and sound, pins and needles, crawling sensation on my skin and most especially sever low back , hip and thigh pain. I have had endless amount of blood tests, CT scans , colonoscopy, and am awaiting a head MRI. All results came back clear and i have been told its stress and anxiety related. It would be so immensely helpful to find out if anyone has ever experienced similar symptoms. My back aches so much that i have convinced myself i have bone caner or leukemia or some autoimmune disease. Im 32 years old and im so scared of all that im experiencing. Please help! thanks so much!!

you are not alone. since last year August, ive been experiencing lover abdominal pain, head pressure, headaches, heartburn, and a host other symptoms. ive undergone all types of tests, including colonoscopy, endoscopy and barium swallow. all came out normal, except for the barium swallow which showed mild gastritis. i have since been diagnosed with severe anxiety and mild depression.
ive had these exact symptoms and all fell back to anxiety. had the same tests as you except mri which my dr said was overkill due to getting clean tests on the others. recently, these symptoms came crashing back on me triggering a shingles outbreak. they did blood work and nothing. it was triggered due to excessive stress. i was taking antidepressives which failed me and revealed the medicines were only a band aid, and i had to take over and due the work to control my anxiety. so, id advice go for therapy.
im currently dealing with pins and needles in my head it feels like something is crawling in there
im so scared and in convinced i have an auto immune disease
hi Ruth…you are definitely NOT alone!
I’ve experienced all your symptoms at one time or another for most of my life!
it SUCKS!
whenever I experience some new physical ailment, my head ALWAYS goes to the “dark side” and I’m convinced that I’m dying!
most times I don’t say anything to anyone so they won’t think I’m NUTZZZ!!
it’s an awful way to live.
if you’ve any advice, please let me know…I’m SO tired of struggling…
hi Lynda.
therapy and medication have helped me a lot. i used to believe i had stomach cancer, pancreatic cancer, some heart disease and many others. but since i started therapy last year, i no longer freak out as much. ive also been avoiding havng too much time on my hands because my mind tends to go on overdrive when i idle. good luck guys. anxiety sure is no joke!

Hi Ruth,
Similar story to yourself, suffer from head pressure / brain fog / dizziness - seen Doctor, Neuro and had MRI scan / blood tests as believed I must have a brain tumor or something serious. All test came back clean and was prescribed with amitriptyline to ease the tension style headaches. At it’s worst I have had the room virtually spinning like being drunk for no reason and have real trouble with balance. Crazy what anxiety can cause, at home or at weekends I have no problem / during the working day the head pressure builds to being near unbearable. Sorry to hear you are suffering these symptoms at a young age ![]()
Hi Ruth,
I am going through this right now. I am 29 yr old female. It all started for me in last September when I had my first panic attack for anxiety due to my intrusive OCD and health anxiety. Post that I had experienced freightening physical symotoms like numbness on face, limbs, chronic headaches, tingling, ants crawling, eye bluriness, tight and jelly legs, sudden pain in limbs, stomach issues which I thought to be Ibs for 2 months I googled MS and was terrified that I had it. which further caused my symptoms to amplify.
then I met 3 reputed neurologist s who refused it to be MS. As the MRI was clear and they did manual test too for any weakness in limbs. they all said it is all anxiety.
I didn’t believe them and still googled about my symptoms. Then I thought if I had MS my condition should detiorate fast.
So I stopped concentrating on symptoms. Slowly most of my symptoms faded. In January , I was almost back to normal.
Then I realized this is chronic stress and anxiety.
But starting Feb I started getting this random pain in thigh, hips, bicep s. Sometimes deep and some times mild. Almost the pain spanning 15 days in a month. Till now I am suffering from the pain.
I worry and panic a lot even now what if this is fibromyalgia after reading internet. I have been to a rheumatologist and had tests done. All autoimmune tests are clear. he asked me to wait and see.
Now I just enjoy a good day and think the day I have pain this should not last longer.
I still dont know what future is. I just hope I will be pain free If I manage anxiety.
ps: Post my pain attack I also suffer from chostochondritis and eye blurriness
on stressfull days mainly if I have confrontations.
I read some where that by exercising well you can retrain your brain and manage the pain well. I know this does not work for all.
I hope we all become pain free some day.
love to you
