Ive had pain on eating since my gallbladder op does anyone out there take ox bile supplements? Ifso do they help with pain ? Please someone take time to reply.. it awful
I have found that first it helps to understand why you're having diarrhea. Diarrhea after gallbladder removal seems to be related to the release of bile directly into the intestines. Normally, the gallbladder collects and concentrates bile, releasing it when you eat to aid the digestion of fat. When the gallbladder is removed, bile is less concentrated and drains more continuously into the intestines, where it can have a laxative effect.
The amount of fat you eat at one time also plays a role. Smaller amounts of fat are easier to digest, while larger amounts can remain undigested and cause gas, bloating and diarrhea. Staying away from fatty foods is a big investment in feeeling better.
There are many great diets on Patient info. UK. Also a prescription for enzymes to help, break up fatty foods can help if eaten in small quantities.
Once your trigger foods foods are identified by keeping a journal the pain issues will resolve itself naturally.
Hi
what kind of pain do u have? I get an ache where my gallbladder used to be which I know is from my liver . Is that the pain? I have constipation and eat prunes daily to solve that problem. But the pain in my liver is caused with certain foods generally too much fat. Or hard to digest foods . So I alter my diet and no pain. I feel that I don't produce enough bile now due to constipation and when I eat too rich a diet my poor liver is desperately trying to produce more bile and it really aches ..
my advice just keep a diary and adjust your diet accordingly. I generally don't have pain now 3 yrs post op. But I can't digest gluten anymore .. hope yours setttles down
