can anyone help on claiming the new p i p. how do they go about the assessment as it is a fluctuating disease? has anyone claimed this and how do they mark you on the inflammation. is it worth claiming plz? i have proof on active inflamation from bone scan.
Hi, I can't offer too much about this because I've not gone through the process. I have read a few threads on other sites though and they all said that when filling in forms you should always answer from the point of view of your worst day (rather than your better ones)
Good luck with it
i am in the middle of a claim now not hopeful as i have fibro and like you say that to varies from day to day.week to week
get help from fightback 4justice on line there legal eagles and can guide you through dont try doing it yourself ,sorry to say you will fall flat on your face
they have a tick box form and ask you questions like to you have a mobile or a laptop answer yes to these the said box is ticked yes and depending on how many question you fall foul on can go against you
.because theres no place to say yes but with diffitculties its yes or no .the more yes's you get means the more likely you will be turned down .
its a mine field i have a medical to go to friday they will have the cameras on you from the moment you arrive they will make sure seats are uncomfortable watch to see if you engage with the receptionist
, see how long you sit or stand for . its a buissness the more atos or who ever is in charge now get back to work the more money the goverment pay them
its as simple as that .
Hi, this is a constant permanent disease that never goes away..it is a permanent disabulity..the symptoms may fluctuate but inflammation is constant, deteriorating, and needs definitely to be claimed as this is the core symptom of RA disease.
you dont have to tell me .you have tell the ones who decide
when they are passing people fit to work with terminal cancer,
and people who are passed fit for work while laying on there hospital bed. some how i dont feel very confident about keeping my benefit
Comes down to your medical reports etc if your attending hospital under a consultant 6tiswas there people gettin pip for far less than RA..Just tell the truth about your condition i do agree atos are a shower of pigs and have no symphathy for genuine disabled folk
how much sicker do have to be then to have terminal cancer
and still be turned down .
i know someone who was turned down whos got phsoris of the liver not thru drink thru doctors giving her the wrong meds,
she had a ton of medical evidence from her specialists, her gp , and even her dentist , she was doubly incontinent, and dizzy spells
fatigue etc, but because she went in positive attitude she was turned down .
Am sure she has the right to appeal dont understand that this person seems really ill so being positive gets you nowhere more or less this is what people are up against ...she would win her appeal she has to
she didnt take it to appeal she said they made her feel grubby and like she was telling lies and with the energy levals so low she couldnt face it again
One of the most important parts of the application, is the last page testimoney, on how the disease has effected every part of your life..be very specific and speak from your heart. In the second testimony that is written from someone else about you, make sure this is written in the same tone and concern.
Hi
I have just been through the process, I went and told them exactly how I felt on a bad day. She asked what meds and how often you see the consultant. What you can and cannot do for yourself like cooking etc. my hands are really swollen so I think the fact she could see that helped.
I'm still waiting to find out what levels i got on mobility and looking after myself but I know I've been awarded it as there is money in my account for it.
i think we worry to much that people will think we are fake or something but we aren't and it is recognised.
Definitely apply you might be surprised.
Good luck
thank you all for your opinions and advice, i had my face to face assesment today and had 2 people in the room. i was a complete mess and got quite upset as its distressing talking about things i cant do, but maybe that will help. i was only in there 20 mins and they hardlly asked me any thing but did ask me to squeeze her hand and bend my knee. how stupid is this i had to go up 16 steps to the room!!! i did ask for a downstairs room but they said the only one had been taken unless i wanted to wait. i can go up steps but it kills me. any way thanks again all. xx
Fingers crossed for you
i have been today as well for what they call a medical
