Hi everyone just a question do anyone of you get a pain across the back and underneath chest bone maybe it does not help with my weight i am trying to lose some weight it's very hard beings i love my food but i must think of my health now ![]()
I had that pain and it was how I was initially diagnosed. I think it is from mucous sitting in that area of your lung that needs to come out, but that's just my opinion.
The thing is, once I got diagnosed and starting drinking more fluids and using an expectorant, I got a lot of mucous out and the pain went away and my breathing improved.
Also, when I exercise, the mucous will get moving. I think you have to move enough to start breathing hard, using all your lungs. I do aqua and walk and that always helps get the mucous out. Mine is mild at this point. i know some people have it worse and are not as active, but if you can do things, you NEED to! I also had more energy once I got the gunk out. Of course, it is a daily thing--some days I feel completely normal and then the next day, I'm working to get this gunk out!
Hi Jaye
I have had that pain every now and then, since being diagnosed with bronchiactesis. I have a doctors appointment tomorrow morning (thats if I can actually get passed the receiptionist) I will mention it to him and I'll let you know what he says
Hi
I've just read your reply to Jayne, I agree with you 100% gettig rid of the gunk is so important. I cant excercise because I get out of breath but I do keep active. I've just found out I can get referred to a Pulmonary Rehab centre where they teach you excercises within each persons ability.
Td3 I don't get much mucus as my Bronchiectasis is only really very very mild I just get this pain across my back and under my chest bone I did have some trouble with my breathing but it's calmed down now.
I get out of breath too, but I plow through it. I had asthma as a child, but this is different. It almost seems like when I get winded, if I just keep going, it eventually gets better. Weird, I know!
Ok Marion yes it will be nice to know what they say .
Jayne, mine is mild too and I can't cough it up usually. I have to work at it. It usually moves to the back of my throat and I have to hack it up. Luckily, it's not so bad I have to do this in public.
When I see the chest specialist in may he told me that the ct scan shew a very very little Bronchiectasis and he said I shouldn't get many symptoms I do get worried about it especially like I said this pain I get .
Hi Jayne, I too get chest & back pains everyday but I don't suffer from mucus at all. I also get out of breath easily these days even just walking short distances & going up & down the stairs in the house. Something I suppose I'm going to have to get used to. Hope you feeling better soon :0)
Thanks Dave yeah I get out of breath but I am now trying to lose some weight which my help take care
hi Jayne I actually got see a doctor today with regard to my breathing which is bad at the moment. I'm only fine when sitting down. I did ask about the pain and have now been give two antibiotics One is So it doescyproflloxin and another called Carbocisteine which is meant to break up the mucus therefore easing breathing difficulties. hopefully this should clear the pain as well. I have to do back in a weeks time. So i does appear that this is the cause of the pain. I must say though that GP's do not seem to have a lot of knowledge of broncheatesis, only COPD which is different.
Glad you got to see your doctor I have an appointment Friday hopefully he can give me some answers hope you feel better real soon .
Thanks Jayne I hope you get on well with your doctor appointment
Thank you Marion talk soon .
