Hi there, I’m looking for some information! I had perthus disease when I was 7 and thought I was ok after coming off the calliper at age 12. Anyway had productive life until I had to have bone fusion at 28! That lasted 2 years then I had full hip replacement at the age of 30. After 15 years I’m having severe pain on the other hip and my spine has vertebrae at the bottom which is paper thin? I have delt with the pain up until now but it’s getting worse. So I wanted to know if it’s a common problem? It doesn’t help the arthritis.
Hi Spudm,
I am afraid that I can't answer your question ... Have you seen an orthopedic surgeon? They would probably be the best people to answer all your questions ...
good luck and let us know how you are getting on ...
big warm hug

Hi
I cant give you any advice other than asking the same advice on a perthes forum.
I had perthes at 11 years old and haclve led a pretty active life, also had 3 children but Ive had pain the last 3 years, Ive been putting it off but it is now effecting my day to day activities.
Ive seen a consultant well his assistant as he was in a meeting she has told me all the horror stories & also that I should try & wait as im only 34. Any advice you could give me?
