Not given any idea what to expect.
Need to know how painful this is, what type of pain and how long it lasts.
How is it controlled. Not told.

Operatiion only just over a week away
Not sure what that is, is it both ovaries out?
I've had both out but at different times, one 23 years ago and I had the other out when I had a full abdominal hysterectomy 8 weeks ago due to another large cyst. I can't say the pain is bad at all except for the trapped wind and bowel pain but the keep you well topped up with pain killers in hospital and give you painkillers for a couple of weeks after too now although i know they didn't 23 years ago but they kept you in longer then than now.
It is the removal of both ovaries and both fallopian tubes. Wanted to do it daycare but as I was not happy, for other reasons, have agreed to an overnight stay.
Update now done. Ended up in hospital for a week as in severe pain which they could not control, seemed few of them were concerned Discharged still in uncontrolled pain as wanted the bed. GP immediatly gave me oral morphine which was on for over a week, had hospital bothered with this instead of co-codamol would have been OK. Only just able to come off co-codamol and go on to Ibuprofen. Op nearly 3weeks ago.
