pain and bleeding during sex

I just wondered if anyone had ever experienced something like this. I had a very healthy sex life with my partner for 2 years. No issues at all. Until I came down with kidney sepsis and had to be on very strong antibiotics for 7 weeks. I got thrush several times from them. As soon as we tried again It was very painful, like something was tearing and I bleed after. Doctor has taken swabs and examined me and says there is nothing physically wrong and advised psychosexual counselling. I am dubious tho. I still think there is something physical going on somewhere as we had no issues before the prolongued antibiotics.

I do however think that I am tensing up in anticipation of the pain too.

my doctor has completely ruled out the possibility of something physical and wont refer me to a gynocologist.

I have bought a book on Vaginismus as a first step.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

What antibiotics were you put on I had Kidney Infection and Sepsis. that said I dont have the the issue you have but I do know some meds can mess up your body for a while/ Certainly when I was in hospital the antibiotics were awful

You could always get a second opnion by going to out of hours doctor ( usually at hospital ) and get checked more throughly as your more likely to get refered to Gyn that way. It terrible that you have to do that sometime but got to worth a try

For the life of me I can't remember what I was on in hospital. I had 3 different ones via IV and then I was on trimethaprim for abt 6 weeks x
