THR 12 weeks back. When I walk without crutches it hurts and seems to kick out around scar area and around to my back. Has anyone had this problem ?
I've got to be honest, maybe I'm being dense but I don't understand what you are describing. If you can be a little clearer you might get better answers.

you were non-weightbearing for 8 weeks and now you hurt when you walk unaided? come on, darling ... might be too soon, don't you think? .. maybe not crutches but how about a rollator (4 wheeled walker) or a cane ... even that might be too early ..
When you do something that hurts, then stop doing it ... well, that is what I do ...
when is your next appointment with your surgeon? do you have physical therapy?

When you say, 'seems to kick out around the scar area and around to the back', it doesn't sound normal at all. What is kicking out? Have you had X-rays since the procedure? Instability is very common for the muscles until they are tightened back up with Physio. This instabilty can be very uncomfortable. Nothing should be kicking out though. Have you discussed with your specialist?

Thanx for your spin on things. I actually saw the doctor early this morning and he said the same as you, that as I had 2 major surgeries at once it would take longer to heal. I am probably getting ahead of myself. I see the surgeon mid June so will be patient until then, just keep on both crutches until then. I also have a temporary stent out in two weeks so this may make a difference with inflammation etc.
