Pain / Cramping / griping behind ribcage ? (5 weeks post gallbladder removal)

Hi I live in the US 22 years old will be 23 in a week. I had my gb removed 5 weeks ago because my CT scan showed plenty of gallstones in the gallbladder. Surgery was successful but the first week I kept waking up in the morning with a cramping pain / discomfort behind my ribcage on both sides and in the center as well . I ignored it and just assumed it was because of surgery. Now 5 weeks later today I woke up with the same exact type of pain in the same area but far more INTENSE. I go to use the bathroom and I almost pass out with the pain and symptoms. The intense pain, craping, griping feeling brought on nausea and I felt hot and cold at the same time. I began to cold sweat and my insides felt as if it were a cloth being wringed out. Has anyone ever experienced this ?! I am so frustrated I've missed so many days of school feeling like crap. If anyone has experienced something similar please share !

Also... I already spoke with my surgeon about this and he wants me to get bloodwork... and made an appointment with my GI but honestly ive been on a rollercoaster ride dealing with doctors for the past 6 months I would like to hear feedback from people in the same situation because I feel quite alone.

Thanks

Hello, I gave the same symptoms as you but worst. Except I been with this pain for almost 8 years now. The only thing that helps me is having to make myself vomit, even if the pain last for hours. Tomorrow I'll be going in for another ct scan, I night have liverstones. And in hopes that's the reason causing pain. Maybe you should have your doctor request a ct scan for the abdomen in the liver.

Thank you, I will talk to my doctor about this.

Sorry you had to go through that for so long !

Sorry you are going through this difficult time.

I had my gallbladderr emoved at end of April.

Better than I was but still having to be careful what I eat.

Pain on and off really.

Went back to GP and she thinks I may have IBS.

Apparently this is not uncommon to develop this if yu have had yur gallbladder removed.

Appointment for endoscopy at beginning of December.

Not great but certainly liveable with.

Take care and keep in touch
