Pain & discomfort 24/7

Does any one else suffer their symptoms for 24 hours 7 days a week. I always thought IBS came and went in "flare ups" but my stomach seems to ache all of the time. My pain seems to move around but is mainly very low down below my belly button and I am also getting lower back aches, bowel movements are usually fairly normal (very occasional D or C) and not found any particular foods that aggravate it. The only other thing is I am suffering badly with anxiety because of the IBS.

I have found that stress makes my IBS D much worse. I am trying to manage my stress but its hard. If course the worse the ibs the more stress. Like living on a roller coaster. I found very little help from my Dr. I am taking probiotics and that seems to have helped some. Try and relax as much as possible.

I have had 24 hrs 7 days for 12 months...... I found peppermint capsules help.

also baths..... though I have to admit its more like 12 hrs aday....when i go to bed symtoms go untill the morning....all is stress related and axiety...

Had loads of test all clear on all of them have helped to put my mind at rest and symptoms have lessend the last few weeks

Don't worry about your IBS symptoms because it will make them worse.  When my IBS first started I had symptoms 24/7 for three and a half months.  After my diagnosis, the relief was immediate and my symptoms improved drammatically and I now have come and go symptoms.  Food does not aggravate my symptoms either.  I have stress related IBS.  Everyone is different as to the cause and type of their IBS.  Ask your doctor for an antispasmodic for the pain such as Buscopan, try oranges, grapes or prune juice for constipation and if you have diarrhoea or loose stools use Imodium short term or try bananas or rice which helps to bind you up.
