Pain in ankle and knee after full hip operation

Hi. I am 6 weeks in recovery from my full hip operation. I am feeling a lot better and pain in my hip has gone .but I keep getting pain in my ankle and knee later on in the evening . it gets worse when I go to bed . has anyone been in the same situation.

hi I’m 5 weeks post OP today and am getting pains occasionally in my opposite knee to the surgery. my consultant did say I may find my other hip gives me pain for a bit post op as it takes the strain of walking but I think it’s my knee that’s doing that. my operated knee clicks occasionally when I’m on my walks but settles after a bit so I’m assuming it’s all related. im just taking an extra dose now and again of ibuprofen which seems to work well for all of this. im due at the hospital on the 8th july.
think tbh all our other joints are taking a bit of the strain from our increased mobility. although im not going far atm I’m going further than I’ve walked for a gd 2 yrs lol .

I also am having some pain in knee on non-operated side. Had thr 6 weeks ago and like julie i attribute it to the extra strain on the joints as we exercise and get more active. I take tylenol arthritis and seems to help. good luck on your recovery.

Hello,
two physical therapists told me that the thigh muscle is weak having been operated on. Even though it feels better other parts of our body are trying harder to stabilize the thigh area when we walk and move. I had pain below my knee and above my knee on the operated side for some time. I never had ankle pain but that makes sense to me.
