Pain in I operated leg

Hi am going on 4 weeks post op . Been doing well but last couple of days my good leg has been painful , tender and sore muscles . Is this because I am putting more weight on it ?

Yes, it could well be but if you are concerned I would have a chat with your G.P.

Good luck with your recovery.

Thanks

Yes it could be showing signs of compensation use, but it could also be your body frame adjusting to the position of the new prosthesis.

I agree that if you are concerned and it persists, do speak with your doctor.

Thanks

Yes sounds like it when i did exercises my good leg really ached. Think its because u put so much more wieght on it without thinking cos u r being so careful with the operated leg.

Where exactly in your leg? Any other symptoms apart from pain?

No other symptoms . Soreness and aching . Suppose I could have been on that side when they operated . Goodness knows what they do when we are out !

Hi Mary,  I am 5 weeks post of THR and my "good" leg was hurting in the groind area for a while.  sometimes my muscles are sore in that leg also.  Please make sure to stretch and excersise that leg also....it made a difference for me.  Good luck.

Thanks same to you

Smile, that very question is what lead me to this group! I had both hips replaced but the right was worse than the left..... So I do not have a "good" leg, but maybe a "better" one

Oops, hit wrong button....

For many years I had been compensating on the left leg in order to walk without tipping over and all the muscles adjusted to that....now everything is back in place and those muscles are complaining a bit BUT each morning is a little better and exercises on that side are getting easier
