Hi
Not had my op yet, waiting for date.
I have had a shooting pain going down my inner thighs, like an electric shock, when I stand up, turn over in bed. Goes after I walk a couple of steps. I've had this for years and asked numerous doctors is it caused by my hips, both now bone on bone or something else. Has anyone else had this? I am worried if it isn't caused by my bad hips it may stop me recovering after my operation.
Hello Lynn
I am 11 weeks post-op and generally doing ok. Reading your post took me back to the months before my op - I remember so clearly many nights waking up suddenly with that 'shock' pain in my groin going down my inner thigh. I used to cry out from my sleep and wake my husband. This pain has completely gone since my op. I have aches when I have done too much but nothing like before. Hopefully this will be the same for you. Good luck and best wishes.
Carole
Hi Lynn,
It is nasty !!! I remember having this pain at times pre-op - I had 2 THR surgeries within 6 months and finally feel getting somewhere -
these pains come from the groin area and caused by the hips -
I hope that you will get your date soon -
take good care of your self
big warm hug

Yes I had groin pain, shooting pains in leg and bad knee pain all due to my hips preop. All went after the op
