Pain in the bum

Hi I am 12 days post op having ups and downs but trying my hardest to stay positive xx this morning I have woke with a pain in my bottom and it hurts certain ways I sit has anyone else experienced this please xx also I'm still very stiff and still needing painkillers I know everybody's experience is different but when does the pain and stiffness start to subside xx advice appreciated thank you xxx

I take paracetamol and dyhdracodine at first I used to feel sick and took tablets for anti sickness

Now I'm used to taking dhidrocodine I don't feel sick.I take amitriptoline at night its for nerve pain but also taken for depression.

I take it 7.00pm and it help me relax and sleep, bur like you I'm in so much pain my gp as given me morphine to take at night.

Like you I attended pain clinic tried all medication you have but didn't work.

The best treatment I have found sitting on a heatpad, hut bath.drinking ginger cordial diluted with hot water.

Keep getting onto gp/pain clinic ask for another xray to make sure everything is ok after the op.

I know many others have experienced this pain in the butt on this forum. I think it's accounted with increased activity on a muscle that was stretched or cut.

Dear Vanessa,

I know that you know that we all heal differently -

I am thinking the same this morning - I am 15 weeks post op from 2nd THR an 9 months from the 1st one and so stiff .... aches and pains, in groin area and knees and back -

ALmost feel as if I am not moving forward - To be honest, I have not been walking a lot due to weather - muddy and slippery out here and so much rain - I feel much colder than ever before in my life -

I had pain in buttoc so badly that I thought hip was dislocated - it was not, of course, just that muscle tryong to keep me balanced - A good massage might help - and I put hot water bottle on it ....

Just still be gentle with your self - you are doing good and all is well

Happy New year

Hi Vanessa........I am 6 weeks post op today and for me it has been one heck of a journey. I still take one percacet a day and a couple of tylenol. BUT I feel good. I didn't realize how bad I had felt before surgery until about 2 weeks ago. I have had shin pain, neck pain , thigh pain,,,,,,, and most have gone away. I do believe we all have different pains at different times. I read the stiffness can take a couple of months if not more. It all will get better and patience is a word I am reminded very often. Hang in there! All the best and a big hug to Rene! She's helped me with many kind words!
