Pain in the Groin after Total Hip Replacement

I wrote earlier today how I was doing pretty well except for a pain in my groin I get after standing once I have been sitting a while.

Surfed the Internet and came up with a few things.

Thanks for your reply, 3 weeks on and still having pain. Physio put me back on 2 sticks but pain getting worse, still 2 weeks before I see my surgeon.

Thank you for finding this as I do have this. Surgeon said he would opporate but it was only 50 50 if it would work. But let me know how you get on if you deside to have it done

The moderators here deleted a couple discussions I had started on this.

of course they chose to delete the ones with my descriptive comments, sigh...

oh well

For 3 years I suffered with tendonosis I both legs, but my right leg was 10x worse than my left leg. It was the tendons ringing along the outside of my leg from the hip to the knee. Even just going to the grocery store for a weekly shopping trip, would have me coming home and laying down do to the pain. Actually I would say my disability of tendonosis was worse than my hip. Then in the last year my hip deterioted to the point of I went and got the hip replacement on my right hip, 19 days ago. I was overjoyed when after surgery I realized that the hip replacement had also cured the tendonosis on my right leg.

i experience a small spot in a very specific area of groin pain after I sit for a while and then stand up. I do not think I had this initially. After doing leg lift exercises lay

ing flat on my back in bed The pain came. The third time I tried my exercises I discovered that I can't lift my right (operated) leg. The groin pain does not permit me to do that.

i know from experience with tendonitis that you are supposed to REST not exercise the tendon. Keep off of it. In fact when I got tendonitis in both legs three years ago this was my mistake, it was a busy time in our business so I fought through the pain and went to the doctor 6 weeks later. This was to late and my tendonitis turned into a permanent condition eventually tendonosis.

if I ly flat on my back and draw up the leg by sliding it on my heal up towards my butt I can lift my leg. But I cannot lift my leg laying flat on my back while my leg is fully extended. I really think there is one tendon in my groin that is giving me a problem and I am going to rest it.

I am googling

tendonitis after total hip replacement

My physical Therapist was here yesterday and confirms the pain is from the iliospoas muscle (tendon). He told me I need to call my doctor.

Oh Joy!
