Pain in the groin

Hello,

Its ben 19 days after my THR.

Everything was ok, I was walking with one crutch and was doing the exercises regularly.

Yesterday I started feeling pain in my groin.

Today I rested and took my medication but it hurts when I walk.

My doctor says maybe I forced myself while exercising.

Has anybody lived a similar case?

I hope my hip is not dislocated((

I'm so frustrated...

Desire

Afternoon Desire! Welcome to the forum. No your hip isn't dislocated. That is a very common complaint, groin pain. Usually doesn't come on right away. It's just pulled muscles and tendons from the surgery. Body adjusting to a different way of walking. How were you before? My body is still adjusting and I'm almost a year out! Of course I dislocated my first hip replacement had to have a complete hip revision 3 weeks and 2 days later. Massage the area and use ice and heat to help. Wishing you all the best for a speedy recovery and healing. Hugs đŸ¤—Linda

Dear Desire

Of course you are concerned but honestly I think you are unlikely to have dislocated it with the level of pain you are describing but not impossible.

Do you feel you have more restriction to your leg movements when doing your exercises?

Good luck

Richard

Hi

I agree with the other posts. I dislocated my hip the pain was awful. Gosh but it HURT! Don't push yourself tho.

Take Care Vickie

hi desire,

I agree  with previous comments -

Maybe walking with one crutch is too soon? You also mentioned in a previous post that your other hip might need surgery as well -

you might not be in balance yet and perhaps overoad your new hip - it is very challenging, isn't it ?

just do your best and don't push it ... when it hurts, stop ..

and be kind with your self -- your body is doing an awesome job

big warm hug

Hi Desire

I started with groin pain around 3 months. I am now having physio and have been told it's the weakened muscles causing me he problem as I am trying to do more. It's down to strengthening exercises some massage. I went back to hospital yesterday for my check and they confirmed the same. It appears to be quite common I'm afraid. Good luck
