Pain in the head for nearly three years

I have a  19year old daughter who stays in Africa. Last December was when I went there to see my family after number of years. But the storry this girl told me made me shed tears. This is her story as she started when I went to see her in her room after she had had the attack, She started by calling me, 'Dad, I would like to talk to you in private.' So I told the rest to give us space, she then continued, .Dad, I have some thing which has been hearting me for a very long long time nearly three years now but whenever I tell these people,' (the other family members, sisters and step-mother), 'they tell me that I am possesed and it pains me and its killing me from inside, I have a severe head-ache which starts with a mild head-ache then develops into a very severe pain in the head and I reachn a certain point when I feel that the centre of my head is getting paralized and it comes down to my face also starts getting paralized then at a certain point I black-out and not know what goes on next. But by the time I regain my concsiense I find the head still paralised and I am straggling with breathing just like some one with Asthma yet I had been checked several times before and told I don't have it. I have had this problem for nearly three years now but no health professional has yet got a clue as to what the problem is and my people tell me that I am possesed. Dad, this thing is killing me and no one seems to understand the kind of pain I go through but they think I am possesed by a kind of jin or jinns or demonds, Dady please help.' The girl told me the story while crying which also drove me to shed tears as I hag her in a bid to comfort her and I promised her that as soon as I return to Uk I will try to seek for some solutions. Please any one with any information please you are welcomed in the spirit of saving this poor girl.

Hello Rashid, it is certainly a sad story that you have posted here.

The simple fact is that without a professional diagnosis it is so difficult to pin down what is causing this problem.

One thing for certain is that you should get any idea of evil spirits being the cause of the problem is completely out of the question as there is no such thing.

Reading between the lines I suspect the problem is in some way connected to an anxiety condition. What makes me think this is these type of silly superstitions whilst completely false nevertheless are believed by some people who are looking for answers and listen to others who mislead them. The anxiety arises when there appears to be no quick fix.

Even if anxiety is the cause of the problem there is still no quick fix without the patient acknowledging that they suffer with anxiety, and then go to see a doctor who will reach a scientific diagnosis and then treat the condition.

Involve a medically trained doctor as soon as possible.

Thank you for your reply and concern. Everything said will be taken note of and I have already instructed she be taken for through investigation to find out what the problem is.

The poor girl. Is it possible she could be having migraines. They can be unbearable as well as having other symptoms. I hope all goes well and that you have an answer soon.
