Hi Bibi, yes definitely! On a relatively low-pain day, I start thinking 'maybe I don't have fibro at all' only to be reminded when the pain returns. I think most of will agree that the pain of fibro can be very variable. And there is a tendency on 'good' days to overdo it, and then pay for it afterwards. You have to remember to pace yourself. Hope that reassures you. xx
Hi, I am just the same. If I have a good few days I convince myself I haven't got it or I have beaten it and got it under control. I then try to go back to what 'normal' used to be and then end up very tired, in pain or both. I know I should pace myself but find it very hard when I feel well. I have been diagnosed just over a year so am still learning my limitations.😊
hi BIBI fibro definately seems to be a rollercoaster ride of good days and bad days. I am trying to keep a diary at the moment just to be able to look back and see when my really bad days were and to see if there was an event, an upset, a food or something that caused the really bad days. Im going to try eating within a small but healthy food list and then monthly change one or two things to see if anything foody helps me stay on more of an even pain level. I still need a purpose and the belief that i can beat or at least tame this x
yes same experience as others have mentioned. Never any days with no pain tho. It does vary inseverity and move around my body. Always seems to be in my back, right shoulder and both hands - that never goes away!
Im in a lot of pain all dayevery day but my doctor got me on too morphine which is really helping ok i might have a bad day now and again but its something i ve learned to live with what i m trying to say it is normal to have very bad days and then go through days without pain ask your doctor to work with youon a painkiller that would help you
I have pain all the time...its somewhat underlying because half hour or so after meds you think hey its gone and then you move to do something and realise its still there. Everyone suffers differently though, I find the only thing thats consistent about the pain is that its varied, if that makes sense. Yes this is normal for Fibro. I agree very much with Jeanne's comment. I do hope you're having one of your better days and thank you for sharing.
Hi bibi, I can echo what most others have said. At the moment, my pain is relatively well controlled on fentanyl patches, muscle relaxants and pregabalin but I do have flare ups when even that cocktail of drugs doesn't do it. Do you have a pain clinic in your local area? My pain clinic runs a pain management course which really helped me. A lot of it was around pacing - starting where you're at, adding a little more, once you're used to that, then add a little more etc. The most important thing for me was to have a daily routine (this helps me to stick to my current activity level every day) as far as possible. I still forget not to do too much on a good day and then I pay for it!
I am stiff every morning, takes me ages to build up energy to have a shower. I am completely exhausted after it. The pains do ease for a couple of hours, and then I notice different areas getting pains; but 4pm I am in complete agony walking around like an 80 year old.. We are all the same on here I guess. Have a good day if you can...Anne..
