Pain Managment

After a whole year of searchg for answers and other means of help i've fiinlly had some, i saw a specialist in the pain managment department at the hospital, i've been refered for physio because i have a dropped shoulder becuse of the limping, acupuncture, to hopefully relieve some pain and a counselour and a chronic pain support group, Thankyou for everyones help on here, good luck to everyone else searching for help cheesygrin

Hi Charley,

I too have been to a pain management clinic and I have had exactly the same problems and treatments. I have to say the acupuncture worked so well that I am into my 4th year of regular cycles of it. Seeing a councillor/ psychologist was probably the best thing for me though. My husband came in to some sessions and it helped us to understand both the cycle of pain and how to avoid making a ad situation worse, but also how to cope with the effects of pain in day to day life.

That's brilliant !

My hospitals pain team were rubbish. They had no idea about my illness. They said there was no such thing as exercise intolerance and that i was just pushing myself too hard. The horrendous vise grip pain i get all the way to my finger tips was just cramps that everyone gets after exercise ( absolutely not true !) i actually ended up doing a lot less than i could at the start.
