Since a severe attack five years ago, i get random minor flare ups. i get lwer left side pains and the general stomach pains. i go onto a no solids diet ofr a week or so, and then things tend to get better. has anyone found an effecive way of treating the pain whilst waiting for the flare up to die down? i've tried paracetamol, but not very effective.
thanks
David
Unfortunately I find it can take weeks or even months for the pain to go, although it does decrease in severity to the odd twinge. In the winter I find a hot water bottle, fluid and rest effective, but that doesn't apply this time of year. One thing that is a strict no-no is Ibuprofen. Can your doctor suggest anything else apart from paracetemol? Best wishes.
I just tried doing the same thing. One day all liquids and then all soft foods for several days. I use a heating pad and it really helps.
Thanks, i'll try a heating pad or hot water bottle.
