Pain

Hi

Hope you don't mind but thought I would start a new thread.

Tess the flowers sound great. That was very nice of your Dads friend. I planted sweat peas in the spring and I have managed to have a constant supply in my lounge since June.

Tess how is Claire?

Linda how are you? How is your Mum? How did your last CBT session go?

Lin are you going to join us here? Sorry to hear you didn't manage to get out shopping.

Tomorrow we take Alison to Birmingham. So today I plan to get all her washing done. Not really feeling up to it as these last few days all I have wanted to do is sleep.

Wishing you all a good weekend.

Lizzy

Help Patient UK by not starting unnecessary topics

Hi Tess and Linda

Sent you both a private message.

Lizzy

Hi Lizzy!

Good idea to start a new thread there was a lot of messages on that one.

Its awful when you feel so tired. Thats how I am feeling at the moment thnk with everything going on with funeral etc. Woke up this morning feeling really tired and throat still no better. Hope it is going to be ok for Funeral on Friday and Claire's party on Saturday. Think it could even be due to my acid reflux as my throat went like this once before. Started taking my tablets to see if they help.

Going to send you a private message shortly. I hope you get things sorted out for Alison in Birmingham. It is a worry until they are settled for you. I still worry about Chris now although I have seen where he is living and it is lovely. It is because it is a strange town to us.

Linda I hope you are ok today. How is your mum now has she put some weight on?

Claire is doing ok at the moment. Pneumonia has cleared and she only has a week and half before she can have ther NGT Tube out and have soft foods. She is getting fed up with it now and I told her to just last out for the final bit. She has put some weight CT scan but she only had one a month ago and is worried about to much radiation. She is going to find out if it is really necessary so soon after the last one.

Take care.

Tess

Hi everyone,

Yes, Lizzy it`s a good idea to start a new thread, we had been using the old one for quite some time. Hope Alison gets sorted out, know what you mean about only making two journeys, driving really tires me out!

Tess, its good you were able to enjoy your wedding aniversary and am so glad claire seems to be on the right road at last. There must be so much to do at the moment, but at least you now have your other brothers and sisters to support you.

Well. decided I would try to be positive at the last session of the CBT, in case she extended it again! It soon became quite obvious that she hadn`t really taken on board half of what I`d told her and seemed to think she had said things which I`m sure she hadn`t! I know I have bad days with fibrofog but mostly she just read out of a booklet she had given me. Well, at least I tried it, but I think next time I see GP I will mention that it wasn`t quite what I expected and some of the things she suggested were way out of our budget. Just so he knows if he refers someone else.

Well Have finally sorted out the things Ann wanted to leave here but wanted to keep and they are now all in one cupboard, also sorted out my craft stuff, so hope to get back into some of that soon. Chris is off work for 2 weeks soon and is going to help me get his room sorted and store what he wants in the spare room. Wow! Put like that it sounds as if I might nearly be there!

Well have a nice weekend,

Linda

Hi Linda

Good to hear from you again. Will be really good for you to finally get everything sorted with the help of your son Chris. Bet Ann has settled in really well now. Does it still seem strange not having her around.

Like you said about the CBT course you gave it a try but half the time they don't listen to us. It is a good idea to tell yr doctor so other people know what it is like.

My throat is still not very good today but slowly improving. i have a blood test tomorrow at 10.30 and Claie going to take me. We are then goling looking for some material to go around her disco booth for her party on Saturday.

Well Stewart on his last night! So pleased that shift is over at least I was able to give my voice a rest lol.

Tess'

Hi Tess and Linda,

Well Alison is now in her new home for the year. We got stuck in a traffic jam on the way and just managed to collect the keys before the office closed.

Alisons room is small, but I'm sure that when the lads arrive at the end of Sept. she will be fine.

Linda I bet you feel more relaxed now that you have managed to get the house straight. I do hate it when so called specialists read out of books at you. My rheumi use to make a diagnosis and then give me a booklet and say all your answers will be in here, not once did she discuss or explain my conditions. How is your mum?

Tess I do hope your week won't be too upsetting for you.It took me months to sort my Grannies bungalow.

Wishing you a good week.

Lizzy

Hi Lizzy hope you ok have got to go for blood tests tomorrow morn so cant eat or drink till after(wonder why you starving when told you cant eat ) dr is checking for diabetis or aneamia, have deciced not to take new tablets they want me to take for pain relief as side effects are terrifying so have decided to increase my Amitriptyline myself slowly to 30mg only on 10-20mg at present any way off to bed now got to be up early so i can motivate my self to see vampires

Hi Linnor,

Can I ask what the new tablets are that you are not taking? I couldn't take Amitriptyline.

Wish you all the best at your blood appt. I hope its an early appt. for you.

I spoke to Alison last night and she sounded like she had had a good day. The shower set the smoke alarm off, it was very very loud. that will be fun if it goes off every time they shower.

Tess how are the party plans going?

Linda hope all is well with you.

Wishing you all a good day.

Lizzy

Hi everyoe,

Linnor, I have Tramadol for pain, but only for a very short time when its really not bearable, because it just knocks me out, and has other not very nice side effects. Otherwise I just have amitrityline, to help with pain and sleep pattern. To be honest its the constant fatigue that bothers me the most.

Hope alison, settles down well, Lizzy, I`m sure she will enjoy herself when she gets into the swing of things!

Tess, I hope your coping ok with sorting things out from Dad`s flat and with your daughter`s party. Try not to overdo things, I`m a fine one to talk, but I have suffered the consequences of doing to much myself!

Been to Mum`s today and she seems ok, a bit strange, in a way I haven`t seen before. All the staff seemed to think we had been on holiday and not sent her a card, she`s been watching for the post every day!!! Now both are arms are out of plaster/sling she seems aware that she can do more for herself, but is going back a long time and trying to do things she hasn`t done for ages. So am hoping all will settle soon so we can get back to normal too.

Have a good evening all,

Linda

HI all tablets i am not taking are pregabalin 50mg twice a day very scary Paddy I also take tramadol 50mg when pain is really too bad to hack used to take 100mg slow release these are much better tolerated but changed Dr when moved so new Dr wont give me them because i dont take them regular but you should ask your Dr bout em Have got hospital appointment saturday morn with ENT spec.to see what spot on tonsils is and whether it is what causes cough. Sunday having dinner at mum in laws to discuss holiday arrangements then going to my daughters in evening to stay over night so can baby sit 2 little angles  while mum an dad go to funeral, we are going to take them out for day prop paradise park rambling again speak again soon night all[/b]

Hi Linda, Lizy & Linnor

Linda I hope your mum gets on alright. Lizzy your poor daughter with the smoke alarm going off when she has a shower lol.

Linnor I hope your blood appointment goes ok.

Well got the funeral tomorrow at one o clock. Dad was in the D Day landings during the war. He was a member of the British Legion. They rang the other day and had asked if there was anything they could do. They are going to come with their flag and walk in front of funeral car just out onto the main road. When we get to the crematorium they are going to do a Guard of honour. Going into Crematorium going to play the revel and the last post on going out. We are having the white cliffs of dover played also on going in and We will meet again on going out. We are also having a union jack over his coffin with his war medals on top with his blazer with his badge on.

Going to be a really strange day with everything going to do with my brother taking his money. There are a lot of angry grandchildren as well as adults. My brother is going to the funeral but not to the funeral tea as he will not be welcome.

We are getting all sorted for Claire's party the day after and will need some like that to make us all feel happier. Got both Chris and Andrew home this weekend and Andrew's financee Zoe. Will be good to see them both.

Well going now as hoping for an early night. I have had lots of aches and pains more especially early in the morning so should think will be up really early tomorrow.

Take care everyone and talk soon.

Tess

Good Morning Everyone,

Tess I hope you managed to get some sleep last night. Wishing you all the best for today. The funneral sounds really nice.

Tess have a good weekend and hope the party goes well.

Linda how are you? How is Ray? I hope your mum is ok.

Linnor I wish you all the best at your ENT appt. Is paradise park a theme park?

Alison is coming home tonight and off to her boyfriends tomorrow. She seems to be a little happier and has managed to sort a lot of things with her landlord, she hasn't backed down as she is paying £70 plus bills a week for a room that only has room for a bed, wardrobe and a set of draws and about a foot round the bed.

Alan has an interview this morning it will be the second one for this company so I am praying that he gets this job. Money is now begining to get really tight our savings are almost all gone.

Take care.

Lizzy

Hi Lizy

No no a very good nigh sleep and have been up since 5 lol. Has been so long waiing for the funeral. Just hope the sun comes out. It is out here at the moment but weather gave some showers.

I really do hope that this is the right job for Alan and with second interview really do need to keep my fingers crossed. I do hope it all works out for you all.

Thats a lot of money Alison having to pay for a small box room. They always charge so much money. It is good she is getting settled and is home for the weekend.

Have to go now. Chris has left his shirt for me to iron. Was in bed when he got home last night.

Take care everyone! Linda and Linnor hope you are both doing ok!

Tess

Hi, everyone,

Tess, be thinking of you today, what the British Legion are doing sounds lovely. They really are a wonderfull organisation, we have had lots of support from them during the years since Ray has been disabled. I hope your brother realises now what he has done and all the upset he has caused, not just to his siblings, but the grandchildren as well.

Lizzy I do hope the second interview is good for Alan, I know what its like to watch your savings disappear and worry about what will happen next, especially when you have dependant children.

Well, just got to put some shelves up (well chris has!) for his DVD`s and Games and get his books and things out of the boxes they have been in for ages cause of lack of storage space and then sort what`s left in his room. I don`t think I`ve ever got so close to having my home sorted how I want and to feel that with a good routine I will be able to manage it. It`s been a dream almost for so long, I hardly dare write about it never mind talk about it in case I put a jinx on it! lol

Linnor, I hope your app went well and you are doing ok today

Linda

Hi Everyone!

Linda the funeral was a lovely tribute to my Dad! All went well and was really lovely of the British Legion to to the Guard of Honour. Was a difficult day but on the other hand a day Dad would have be proud of us for organising especially under the difficult circumstances with my brother.

He was at the funeral and made his own way there. He didn't sit with us in the front row and was advised not to come to the funeral tea. There would be too many members of the family annoyed with him! The last thing we wanted was any trouble.

Got Claire's party tonight so should lift all our spirts tonight! Probably what we need after all the things going on this last month. Its really good your house is more manageable for you now.

Lizzy hope Alan's interview went ok and you get some good news!

Linnor hope you are ok and your appt went alright.

Tess

Hello

Tess I'm glad to hear that the funneral went well. I hope you all had a good time at Claires party.

Linda how are you?

Linnor hope all went well with your appt. yesterday?

I am begining to think that the Vit D is actually helping. My muscle pain seems to be much less. Back to the doctors on Tuesday.

Alan should hear about his interview next week.

Take care.

Lizzy

Hi Lizzy

Party went really well and Claire really enjoyed it. It was quite funny as Claire wore Steph's Prom Dress as it was a lovely fushia pink. Claire gave steph a purple dress that was too big for her. Then Amy wore a dress of Steph's. They all had a new outfit and cost no money and looked really lovely. Claire did give me a lovely black dress but wouldn't stay up as my boobs not big enough lol. Didn't get to bed until 2 and was up at 5.45 for Stewart for work. Going to feel it tomorrow lol. It is actually Claire's birthday tomorrow although she had her party yesterday and she will be 25.

Well Everyone as gone back home now. Steph took Chris for his train at quarter past five. He is not very happy in his job and is going to look into getting on a teaching course if there are any vacancies. If not will try and get a job doing teacher assitant job if he can. He is also of thinking about coming back home and if he can get a job with enough money then he can go visit his friends in Manchester at the weekend. I think he is feeling a lonely now as he hasn't got a partner.

Don't mind him coming back home especially if he is going to go on with a career in teaching. Said we would support him in that.

Lizy hope you get good news about Alan's job. i also am going to see the doctor on Tuesday. Got to see about my thyroid results, also find out why my only pain relief tablets coproxomol have been taken off my prescription.

Linda i hope you are ok. Linnor how are you today!

Tess

Good Morning

Well thats Alison off back to Birmingham.

Tess glad that the party went well. Its good when you can swap clothes with friends and relatives. Two of my daughters are 5ft 3 and slim and my other daughter is 5ft 6 and slim so she misses out on clothes swaps. Like you I have small boobs and my daughters all have large, think that must come from Alans side of the family.

Wishing everyone a good day.

Lizzy

Hi Tess and Lizzy,

Sorry not been on the last few days, bur had probs with PC and being able to log into Patient UK. Sorted now, I hope!

Glad the funeral went well, and Claire`s party. Hope your son finds something employment wise that he enjoys, nothing worse than getting up every day and doing something you don`t enjoy You will need to have some quiet time now to reflect on what happened not only with losing your dad but also with your brothers actions. They are both very stressfull things, which as we all know make our condition worse. Sending you a hug.

Lizzy, hope you are settling down to life with Alison at Uni, it will be Christmas before you Know it and she will be home again. Something that might interest you was an article in our local paper the other day , which said that students here pay on average £80 per week rent. Don`t know how that compares with Alisons but it sounds a lot to me!!

I`m getting a lot of pain in my feet and ankles at the moment, that`s a new one for me. I have arthritis in some toes but this is entirely different.

Well must get tea now,

Linda

Hi Linda

How are your pains in your feet now. My toes are really playing me up tonight with the damp and rain. Saw doctor on Tuesday and said I have something called Hallus Rigidis (have already told you this can't remember) well there is not much they can do at the moment until it get really severe. Apart from giving me a low dose anti inflamatory tab but I must be taking my omeparozole acid reflux tabs at the time to stop it irritating my stomach. They could operate but couldn't be sure what the outcome might be. Got stabbing pains in my big toe! ouch! I have got OA as well.

The funeral went really well and dad had a good send off. Had the British legion doing a guard of honour for him. Was very emotional as the vicar was reading out all about dad's life when he couldn't speak for a while as he was very upset himself. Think everyone at that point was overcome to. He did apologise about faltering but we said it didn't matter and he is human just like us all. My brother didn't come to the funeral tea so everything went quite smoothly. Got a big job on Saturday as we now need to get everything out of the flat over the weekend. Not looking forward to that. We also helped Andrew move yesterday into his rented house. Was a very busy and tiring day lol. Going off again on Monday until the following Tuesday possibly to Derbyshire. Although haven't booked up yet. Then away again for three days Bank Holiday weekend.

Lizzy how are your aches and pains today! I hope Alison is getting on ok. Any news with Alan with his job interviews. Andrew has given his notice and is coming back home to stay at the beginning of September. He would like to try and get some work as teaching assistant to gain experience so he can go on the course next year. He is going to send letters off to the Primary Schools and see if anything going. Failing that he will get a job and somehow try and do some voluntary work in the school. Will be good to have him home but not the extra washing and ironing lol.

Well got to go now and sort out my shopping order for going away next week.

Take care all!

Tess
