Hi everyone haven't been on for a while as I have been doing great:-) Right hip done 8 months ago left done 4 months ago .I am back at work full time and have been doing fine but today I have had a constant pain in my left side its actually on the scar site and feels like a stabbing pain can anyone advise me on what this could be please thank you xx

Hi Vanessa could be nerve pain. I had it down the leg on part of my scar. My GP put me on Amitrytaline for about 2 months and it settled. I would get it checked out though x

I am 7 weeks post op and had that stabbing pain in groin/scar area last weekend. Saw the doctor mid week and he said scar tissue and nerve pain and not to worry. Not sure if that helps but I only had it intermittently for a day and a half and then it stopped..... so nerve pain made sense

That's a lot to go through. Listen, get checked out. Doctor and physical therapist have told me complete healing on each hip takes 12 months. I'm at six weeks. It's easy to get ahead of myself I notice when I feel so much better than I did at first. I have had frequent pain in my operated side at times and they told me it was the knots in muscles (I can't remember what they called it exactly) and scar tissues. It is getting much better with massage at PT. But pain means things need evaluation by a professional, I think. Take care. Hugs, Janet

I agree with previous comments - sticky scar tissue can be the cause of stabbing pain - deep tissue massage will help and because you describe it as a constant pain, have it checked -
