Pain

About 3 weeks ago had knee replacement still having lots of pain where the tourniquet was is that normal

Yes, 3 weeks is still so early. You will still be experiencing post-op pain and you will have lots of unexplained pains over the next few weeks which is totally normal. Just keep up with your Physio and over the next few weeks you will start to notice a difference. Keep in touch with this forum and any concerns you have will always be listened to.

I referred to that pain as my "steak knife in my thigh" pain! My KNEE didn't hurt, but THAT STEAK KNIFE PAIN was horrible!

My nurse was the one that told me it was probably from the tourniquet. I mentioned it to my surgeon, and he said that a tourniquet was necessary to prevent bleeding during the surgery.

My "steak knife" pain took about six months to go away. I had this with my left knee surgery. For some reason I did NOT feel any tourniquet pain with my right knee surgery three and a half months later.

Strange.

Yours will go away eventually. You just need PATIENCE. That's hard to come by sometimes, but knowing others have experienced a similar thing often helps.

Hang in there!♥️

Yes that is normal! After my TKR 8mths ago, it felt like there was STILL a tourniquet around my leg. I promise it will get better. Keep doing your exercises at home, physio.....and stay positive.
