I’m at my wits end with dreadful painful bloating that is so uncomfortable l I can barely eat.
I have been sent for an MRI on my kidneys in case it was stones which was negative but did show small gallstones and a small ovarian cyst. The GP said they were small and should not be a problem. I assumed that they must have been the cause of a couple of attacks of bad shoulder and rib pain attacks I had a few mths before which I put down to severe indigestion. I was sent for a scan on my ovaries nothing there (phew) but the pain in my back under my ribs takes my breath away and the bloating is awful. I have to take laxatives and this has made the doctor think its a bowel problem which I don’t think it is, I think the bowel problem is a symptom of something else I can’t seem to get through to them that the pain is coming from the liver area and gallbladder region and yesterday the consultant said it wouldn’t be gallstones as this does not cause bloating. He insisted I come back for a colonoscopy in 6 weeks which means another wait whilst the results are awaited. I know i should be grateful this is being investigated and I am glad I’m being listened to but in the meantime these other problems are interfering with my Parkinson’s medications which is causing huge disruptions to my overall health. Thanks for listening and hopefully somebody can advise? Oh forgot to say that I have found that alcohol really makes it worse and now avoid.
Gall bladder troubles and removal and IBS are connected. Still get bad bloating even after gall bladder gone
