Since adolescent years I have had UTIs and almost always showed blood in my urine. Well starting March 16 I was burning off and on. On Easter, April 1, I started burning again and have not stopped. I have been on 3 antibiotics.
Well this was submitted before I was done.. sorry.
Like I was saying I have been on 3 antibiotics. The symptoms have not gone away and now I have soreness and pain in the lower half of my back that radiates to my sides and around my lower pelvic area. It burns when I pee throughout the day. I keep a headache. Friday the 13th I woke up and it felt like someone has repeatedly punched me in my lower back, I was so sore. I called my doctor and they did not return my call. It hurts to move around or even bend over or turn my body. I have seen the doctor 3 times. I have had cultures sent off and each time they came back normal. The doctor said I had a lot of blood in my urine. Since Easter I have stopped drinking caffeine and only drink water. I have a frequent urge to pee and feel like my bladder is full, a pressure sensation. I stay on the bathroom all day. I have no idea what else to do, nothing is working... any ideas or other similar stories?
HI Katie 51760, I am 73 male and I have had a lot of UTI infection's in the last two yrs I have had lots of antibiotics so 3 day And 5 days But one Dr said that to clear the infection you need at least 10 days treatment and urine test at end of 10 days But the latest Dr. I have seen he's thinking on the line why are I getting infection so he want's me to have an Ultrasound on my kidneys done And have a look at my bladder via a camera in through my Penis . So getting back to your problems you might need the same as me . Good luck

Katie, it's me back David I meant to say when I was talking to you just now How many times do u go to the toilet.? Like I have to go every 3 hrs all day and all night it is a nuisance as one doesn't get much sleep
Thanks for replying! My first antibiotic was a single day does of Monurol 3gm. Then I took Cipro 250 MG 2 times a day for 10 days and the third medicine was Levaquin 500 MG 1 time a day for 5 days. I still have all the symptoms I started with and actually they have progressed. The first initial doctor visit I did not hurt in my back, side or lower pelvic region, now I do. Good luck to you as well!
I have to go very often. I get up several times in the middle of the night. It seems like I am in the bathroom all day anymore. The urgency and burning pain wakes me in the night. Very frustrating.
**update** I still burn everyday. On Sunday 4/15 I woke up with a sharp right lain and tenderness that has carried over to Monday. I finally end up going to the ER and they did blood work, urinalysis, and a CT scan. Everything was normal and nothing was done except a 4th round of antibiotics. I left the hospital still burning and hurting. Yay for me.
