The symptoms of acute and chronic can be very similar. You need to have further tests to find out what is causing the pancreatitis. Go back to your GP.
cheers m8 when i was in hospital they done more tests and sent them to manchester but still havent found anything out everytime i ring they say they havent come back yet or we will get in touch with ur dr but they havent
Ask your GP if they can chase the tests up for you, if not refer you to the pancreas unit at the Manchester Royal.
the only thing is manchester is miles away im from the south lol
There are specialist pancreas units throughout the country so your GP should able to make arrangements for you to go one of them. If you give your location I should be able to help with the nearest.
cheers stuart i live in portsmouth m8 also rung up the hospital today and still nothing they tpld me all the drs have been changed so your guess is as good as mine stu thanks for your help means alot
University Hospital Southampton have a specialist pancreas disease unit.
Ask your GP for a referral to the unit.

Paracetamol can be very effective but don't exceed the max dose.
Talk things through with your GP and try and get a plan of action.
