Panic attack advice

Hey guys,

Just had a small panic attack at work...when this happens I try to ground myself and relax my shoulders and tell myself "you're fine." This came on because I read something online that made me worry about my own health even though it was completely unrelated to me. Any tips on how to get around that happening or is it just desensitizing yourself and building up a wall again.

Practice mindfulness!

I do, I guess the more I practice the better I'll get. I sometimes forget to when I get distracted by something and then the nasty pictures start coming up in my head of something bad happening to me and I get the attack come on.

Have you gone to therapy?

I did some over the phone therapy and read a few books on it. I use to be a lot worse, now it only happens once or twice a week. I use to have a panic attack every day. Every day I feel better but I'm still working through some hurdles.

I've really only been having panic attacks since October so I think I've come a long way in a short time. I feel I am making good progress but I have the odd set back.

How is your diet?

Sugar?

Caffeine?

Lots of carbs?

Snack foods that have msg?

I'll have the odd candy or bar but I eat pretty good, mostly fruit, meat and veggies. I eat some whole grain pasta and rice too. I cut out caffeine cause it was giving me panic attacks. Like for dinner today I had whole grain spagetti with ground turkey and veggies for a snack I had grapes and strawberries and a nutrigrain bar. Breakfast I had eggs, toast and a greek yogurt.

Sounds pretty good! Have you tried eating fermented foods or adding a pre and pro biotic to your suppliments?

I haven't tried that but that's a good idea. Never thought about fermented food before other then kefir.
