Panic attack in public and I feel so embarrassed. How do I overcome the embarrassment I'm feeling?

Hi, just recently I had a major panic attack at my sports game all of a sudden, and I tried to play it off, but it got worse and worse to the point where I just collapsed to the ground in so much fear and distress thinking I was about to die while feeling so much derealization, palpitations, trembling, and just a sense of doom. This made the game halt for a little as I was getting helped by my teamates, but I just can’t get over how much of a scene I made. I wasn’t looking like I was going insane, most of the people thought it was “heat stroke” so I just went along with it, but I was also shaking like crazy, and now I’m scared my teamamtes and friends wont like me cause of what happend. I feel like Im in one long nightmare, and I just want to dissapear.

first of all, your teammates were concerned about you. They wanted to make sure you were OK. The thinking that they might not like you is not based on fact, it’s based on the negative thinking that anxiety puts in our mind. So much of what we think is an illusion and not actually what really goes on
. The main thing is that they were concerned about you which means that they do like you. And that’s not even the most important thing. The most important thing is you and not what you think somebody is thinking.
It’s not your fault what happened. this happens to more people than you know. The main thing is to take care of yourself and see if you can get some support for managing anxiety. , Which can sometimes lead to panic attacks. .
Think about speaking with a counselor. They can be very helpful with this type of thing!
your teammates thought you had a heat stroke. That also can happen to anybody at any time.
Life isn’t perfect and things do happen. The important thing is that we keep moving forward. I’m sure your teammates will be so happy to see that you are OK!take care! You’re fine!
