When I had my worst panic attack I was driving. I pulled over and got out of my car for some fresh air and for some reason that made me panic even more because I felt like there was something really wrong if I had to pull over. I started with shortness of breath and then my right arm started to tingle then the left then both my legs. They all started to feel numb once I got out of the car and started jogging in place. I also had this pain in my stomach like if I was punched. I'm thinking it might have been the adrenaline? But have you guys felt something like this??
Hi Jay,
I had panic attack last Sunday which lasted 30 mins then another 40-50 mins to calm down when ambulance arrived.
I got pins and needles in my arms and legs my hands and jaw clenched and I was really hyperventilating.
I was curled up into foetal position and had chest stomach and muscle pains and was pouring sweat.
I was exhausted afterwards.
Jay,
Those symptoms could very well be related to the panic attack but I always recommend following up with your doctor just to get things checked out. When your test comes out normal then you can be relieved. I have had The shortness of breath and tingling in arms and legs and still occasionally get it. Have not had the pain in the stomach. Do you still have it?
if all your symptoms are related to anxiety keep in mind that they cannot hurt you. They feel scary and weird but that is all they can do. However like I said following up with your doctor would be a good idea. After that if everything comes out OK, which it most likely will, you need to start working on managing the anxiety.
I really like the meditations on you tube for anxiety and if you have a panic attack you can search for that too.
Adrenaline rushes can make you feel strange but it eventually dies down.
Exercise releases feel good hormone that calm you down.
Feel better soon!
