Hello, friends! 2 months ago; I awoke in the middle of the night unable to breathe, crazy tremors, numbness, unable to speak we'll, major heart palpitations, weakness... went to the hospital, they thought I was on drugs, until I took a drug test. They took chest x-ray, eng, no problems with my heart, but I didn't feel that they listened to what I was saying. So, I see my GP, he thinks panic attacks, and now I'm on zoloft, xanax, and propranlol. My concern/question is that I am not depressed nor do I have a high level of anxiety, my life is great, I'm 35, and have never had a panic attack, but every day since I've had constant tremors, face numbness, tongue numbness, difficulty breathing, random symptoms, hypersensitive to everything. I've not felt normal since the first episode and I be had a few since, plus the constant daily symptoms. Is this normal for anyone else? I am seeing a neurologist, soon.
David
We could say Anxiety, although you see a Neurologist soon and personally I feel you need closure and to understand why you feel the way you do.
Attend your appointment, try not to worry, we all go through a tanche of tests at various times and hopefully you will be content with the results.
Many years ago I had all the scans and tests when suffering from Meningitus.and again for my Conjenital Short Term Memory Defect
Good Luck

Hi David!
Were you taking anything before that episode? I had the same thing happen to me a few months ago and the ER told me it was anxiety and also weren't really listening. It was actually a reaction to a med. I still have tremors and weird tongue feelings, but I also have a thyroid/ autoimmune problem that they're trying to figure out. Seeing a neurologist is a good step! I was referred to one as well and he was more helpful in getting testing and a referral to endocrinology than my GP.
What you're experiencing could very be panic, but I think that it's best that you rule out all other possibilities. Especially if you have visible tremors and such. I have panic disorder, but there is an obvious difference between tremors and shaking from the panic.youre probably now experiencing panic from the aftermath of the experience too.
And don't be afraid to advocate for yourself and what you need. You know your body better than anyone, and can probably tell the difference between anxiety and not. The neurologist should help get you on the right track.
